Seems to me Naga seems to have come from India as 'Nag' means serpent in Hindi/Sanskrit also 'Naga' are half men, half serpent myth that were part of a holy army.
Your views ?
Also I think the NE seem to resemble the skin tone of a few hindu gods but that may be to blend in at night/ a convention for NE or wood elves.

I was kinda waiting for it ( never played WC2 ) anywayz so what are the trolls inspired by ? they look really different from most other trolls in fanatasy settings.

Most franchises use variations on the scandinavian troll - lanky, large nose, exaggerated features. Warcraft likely just wanted to take that in a different direction, as it tends to with most things.

But surely the trolls of Warcraft are lanky, big nosed and have exaggerated features, no?

The only trolls I know of outside of Warcraft are those naked gem belly trolls with radical hair. Oh, and the troll from The Three Billygoats Gruff.

For people interested by "paper" role playing , here is the vision of the Trolls in a very old role playing game , the first one i played in the eighties (as it was a very simple system , too simple sometime, it was perfect to make your first contact with the role playing genre) "l'Oeil Noir" , it was translated from the german version "Das Schwarze Auge" , in english it should be "The Black/Dark Eye"

this illustration (http://i137.exs.cx/img137/3043/srsrysrns9ye.jpg) comes from the monster book of l'Oeil Noir

this one (http://i137.exs.cx/img137/332/sdghdfsfgsfff9eg.jpg) is found inside one of the adventure modules (set of scenarios)

very different from the warcraft troll :)
The monster was a strong one in l' Oeil Noir (they were 4 meters high), too much difficult for the adventurers that were very low level (1-3) , as they hit hard and are usually with their family (wife and kids) when they waited for the unfortunate adventurer.

There were 3 kind of Trolls : the Cavern Troll (the less original , as he could be changed in stone by sunlight), the Bridge Troll (this one lived under bridge and liked to make people crossing them to pay or die) and the Forest Troll.

The Bridge and Forest Trolls had a certain sense of humour, and the Forest Trolls liked a lot candies, so it could be possible to negociate with them instead of having to fight.
