Why were they never waken up during RoC? if the legion truly was that destuctive why were the Druid of the fang not awakened to help defeat the legion? were they corrupt before the legion came or did balancement come before lore in RoC?

Unless I'm mistaken, the Druids of the Fang were originally followers of Naralex (a night elf) who were corrupted by his dreams when they turned into nightmares (presumably because there's something wrong in the Emerald Dream). In order to wake Naralex up and end his nightmares in the Wailing Caverns, you have to defeat the leaders of the Fang who are working to keep Naralex asleep so they can remain as they are. Before being corrupted, though, the Druids of the Fang were probably normal druids and not their own order. At least, that's what I think.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but is Naralex the aspect of the Emerald Dream, and did these druids used to be Druids Of the Claw?

no, as he said Naralex was a night elf. and the druids of the fang, Id like to think them an order like those of the Claw and the Talon. as for the reason they werent awakened, bear in mind that they all seem to be in the Barrens, Tyrande and Furion were in Ashenvale fighting humans, orcs, undead and demons. possibly they didnt have the time or resources to go get em. as for when he was corrupted, its an unknown.

No, Naralex is not a dragon. Ysera is the aspect of the Emerald Dream, the green dragons.

Oh, right. Sorry. Misread that.

So is the druid of the fang the antithesis of the druid of the claw?

antithesis, you mean something like grunts and footmen in the older WC? in that case, no. they're simply an order of druids that has gone slightly bad.

Can someone please explain, in detail and from the beginning, exactly who Naralex and the Druids of the Fang are? You know, for those of us who don't have WoW?

Naralex is a night elf with tauren and night elf druid disciples who were, I believe, working to regenerate the Barrens to its earlier, lusher past. One day (I don't know the precise date) he went to sleep inside the Wailing Caverns and appears to have tried to contact the Emerald Dream. However, something went wrong, and his dreams became nightmares, corrupting the Wailing Caverns and many of his followers. Whether these followers were originally known as Druids of the Fang or not is unknown to me, but in their corrupted forms they can transform into serpents and are determined to prevent anybody from waking up Naralex and ending his nightmare. Inside the Wailing Caverns is a tauren disciple of Naralex who has remained uncorrupted (I didn't see any tauren among the ranks of the Druids of the Fang) and gives you a quest to eliminate the four leaders of the corrupted druids. He can't wake up Naralex and end his nightmare until these fanglords are defeated. After doing this, he requests that you defend him as he attempts to awaken his master. Naralex's nightmare sends monsters after you in an attempt to interrupt the awakening ritual, culminating in a giant murloc-like creature. If you manage to defeat this "boss", Naralex awakens, all the monsters and Druids of the Fang in the Wailing Caverns disappear, and Naralex and his tauren disciple transform into birds (maybe owls?) and fly away. The murloc-like boss also drops a crystal that is, apparently, a reflection of the Emerald Dream. After some journeying, you are asked to take this gem to the Arch Druid in Thunder Bluff who, after looking at the crystal, thanks you for your troubles and gravely informs you that something is wrong in the Emerald Dream.

Very interesting.

Do you think it may become possible to access the Emerald Dream in a future quest?

Also many of the mobs(ie. Raptors, Crocolisks, snakes) have come from his nightmare. Not sure wether they are transformed druids or just creatures that found a way into being from his nightmares.
