Owie!

*Rubbing at her sore botty, Plue lifts herself up to her feet, a menacing glare being cast over her shoulder at the offending doorstep that someone saw fit to place there...*

Ok, now that hurt!

*Muttering imprecations beneath her breath, she brushes down her clothes, one hand still clutching at the achy spot instinctively, even as her eyes begin to cast about the familiar surroundings. Spying out the quiet corner she used to inhabit, albeit it briefly, a wry grin forms across her features and, with measured step, watching for any ~more~ obstructive obsticles, she makes her way over.*

*Remembering the benefits of being electronic, one sweeping gesture of a hand relegates the accumilated dust to oblivion, while another covers the area with a mass of plumpy, comfy cushions!*

Weee! It still works!

*Clapping her hands with glee, she turns the previously offended posterior in the direction of her new spot and, with a low pitched 'oof!', flumps down into their depths, wriggling in deep for comfort.*

There we go! All settled! Now I can say hello!

Erm....hello!

*Pursed lips keep the vivacious personality locked away for a moment as she ponders her next words...(a rare occurance!)..*

Hrm! Where to begin? Here I was thinking that hello would suffice, but no, my mind says to me, a hello is the start, not the end. So, I says to my mind, I suppose the rest should be the making of a mend, eh?

But still! The dilemma! I mean, think about it! I thought I was starting at the end - and here I find myself, wayyy back at the beginning!

*A desperate sigh wells up as Plue slumps back into the plush cushies, looking upwards imploringly...*

Oh, very well. Shut up, you silly creature!

I'll put Plue back on the shelf for a bit. She's been a confused little thing of late. Breaking into rhyme for no apparent reason is but the least of it, I assure you!

She and I both thought that it was time to drop back into this particular corner of her world and say hi. Her (and my!) last departure was rather abrupt. One of the fringe benefits to living the lifestyle I do. Suffice to say, things got rather chaotic for awhile and are only now settling down again.

On the plus side, I'm finally back to playing WCIII too! The downside, is that the plus side also means that I'm back to plaguing these boards!

So! A vibrant 'hello', on Plue's behalf, to the handful that remember me. A servile, guilty 'hi' to those that curse me and a perky, bouncy 'hiya!' to those that don't know me!

I hope that the faces that I remember and still see around are doing well. Feel free to say hi! Or call me names! *grin* I'll be around. :)

*In the shadowed recess of an alcove above, a pair of disembodied eyes appear, surveying the room with apparent curiosity. Seeing the faces below, new and old, they descend towards the almost mountainous mass of pillows in a corner, the darkness coalescing to give shape and form to the quiet intruder.*

Mmmm! That's better! *Plue's voice comes drifting out of the newly formed body as she stretches, back arching in an almost cat-like fashion...* That entire body-less experience, while great for eavesdropping, can be a kinda dull!

Besides! It's difficult to give mouth to any thanks when you...err...haven't got one! A mouth, that is. Not thanks! 'Cause I do! Have thanks! Err....

*A brow furrows as Plue struggles for a moment to untangle the twisted string of words, eventually smoothing as, with a small shrug and lilting smile, she leaps back into the one-sided conversation without a care!*

Anyway! I thought I would. You know...say thanks! So...well...you know! Thanks! It's a pl...Pfffff!

*A startled exclamation escapes her as the somewhat precarious stack of cushies beneath and around her partially collapses, smothering her in a veritable storm of fluffy things. Arms flailing momentarily, she struggles out from beneath them, coming to a stand and turning to glare almost viciously at the vile betrayers - levelling a kick at the nearest of them!

She watches the cushie go whizzing across the room with satisfaction...a stifled silence bursting into a cascade of giggles as it whacks KCG in the back of the head while he's not looking*

Oops!

Good time for Plue to disapparate, or whatever it is she does, I think!

Thanks again for the welcome back all, it's appreciated.

I've been off doing a bit of the former with a lot of the latter, ATL. It keeps a girl busy, even if there isn't much else to recommend it.

Ah yes, always a joy the first time through. Where exactly are you in the campaigns, just out of curiosity?

I actually just managed to complete the final mission in the Night Elf campaign last night, Wardragon. I know...I'm slow! My time for gaming is somewhat restricted though, so it's a case of one scenario often taking me a several days or a week to complete.

At the risk of inflaming some of the audience, I don't think that the quality of the various scenarios in The Frozen Throne is quite up to par with those available in the Reign of Chaos campaign - at least not what I've played to date. Still...it's a welcome change. Lord knows that I played the original game to death, so new ground is always welcome!

Virtually a prerequisite for membership at this forum, methinks (says the exception that proves the rule).

'There was never a genius without a tincture of madness' - anyone that's read Aristotle would need to agree there, at least. It's a fact I console myself with - while stroking an oft beaten ego!

ire - infinitive ending

Enough with the Latin though - you're right insofar as it's being highly pretentious.

'Ancilla' was originally an obscure reference to a sect of priestesses (I forget to which God exactly - it's been awhile) that abstained from...err...some of life's more interesting elements.

It then became the term for a maidservent, then female slave. Much later on, well into the Christian era, it was adopted, perhaps in reference to its original meaning, by nuns to refer to themselves. Odd choice when you consider that they almost had to be aware of the other possible interpretations!

He'd lose self control in the act and end up flattening your whole torso. Wonder Woman though, she has that expert Amazon training...

I too love the epics (though I fear I lack the Greek to encounter Homer), and I love Vergil, but scanning lines is a real pain sometimes. Also, tose who write in metre tend to omit words(not to mention parts of words, syncope anyone?) and invert the order of phrases. So the text can be tricky. The stories are cool, and all those literary devices one learns are helpful for Englsih class! Hooray for metonamy and synechdoche!

*laughs* These boards are an exercise in syncope, Inquisitor! You don't need to go all the way to the classics for that... As for the rest, I've always found that the use of metonymy smacked of pretension! It's always made me itch to find the individual responsible and find out whether the pen is indeed mightier than the sword... ;) Equally, synecdoche is entirely too prevalent in every day conversation. Especially in gaming circles!

Still, I'd have to agree - the classics are a good exercise in the usage of modern language. It's never a bad thing to see what started it all.

Alright you caught me. It was maple flavored corn syrup, Mrs. Butterworth's brand. Real maple syrup is way expensive.

Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've got a friend who you remind me SO much of, your writing reminds me so much of the way she thinks/writes. You guys would have so much to talk about if you ever met.
For some reason, the thought of meeting another mind quite as twisted as my own is faintly disturbing! Do you have any idea how difficult it is to conduct a serious conversation with someone that has multiple personalities? Particularly when you suffer from the same affliction?!

At the very least PBot, she must keep you on your toes! *grins impishly*

Purple meets the blue? Should that be purue?
Only when blue meets purple - they get all mixed up then.

Or is that when you get Blurple?

Gah! Confused!

Can I say welcome back when I have only just returned myself?
Nope. You can't.

I can though! Since I got back first. Tee-hee!! *sticks out her tongue in Flinn's direction*

So...welcome back 'n' stuff! You thread hijacker, you!

That's Japanese.
It probably means 'crazy hyena with big nose who suffers from flatulence', right? :(

I think I prefer my version...

The thought of actually eating syrup of any kind actually managed to draw a cringe from me, KCG. I think I was happier suspecting you of sarcasm... I've got a sweet tooth, I admit...but that's a bit beyond even my tolerance level!

It's better when you add brown sugar to the mix. It's like maple brown sugar oatmeal without the comburance that is oatmeal.

Um, I may have misled you; that wasn't my first post since returning, I've been back for a couple 'o weeks...

Well, I still win! So there!

*grins impishly before scampering off to play in the shadows some more...*

Car > Boot
:y-mm: :y-mm: :y-mm: How so?

Willow

Because without the Car, there is no Boot.

Its all about the car. Always. Everytime. Who the hell doesn't want to be the car?

The car is nice, but so is the battleship... :y-thumbsu
