Deep withing the Blasted Lands(pretty sure its in there). Surrounded by lvl 62 elite demons, lies the Dark portal, somewhere in the description it mentions that if a huge number of warlocks were to gather here, that the portal might open. But what could lie within the portal, could it be Outland and Illidan Stormrage? or Kil' Jaeden?

*Spoilers

Kil'jaeden is a no. the portal is going to be a huge world event, though were not sure of the events leading up to it, wether it be a quest, something blizzard activates, etc.... however yes its been popular belief it will require a large number of warlocks in each server to open the portal. the portal leads to outland (the remains of the landmasses of dreanor that were originaly in the area of the darkportal on the hellfire penninsula). Illidan as well as kael and vashj are suspected to be located there.

Will Illidan, Vashj, and Kael be hostile towards everyone? or merely Neutral?

Good question. I would say hostile, but that is just me.

Judging from the info gleaned from the WoW DVD, the DP and Outland are unlockable features that players are expected to open. How is open to discovery. I think that all the main NPCs will be Neutral, and supply more quests, given WoW's quest happy nature... But I'm only speculating there.

One would assume they are hostile. Both Kael, Illidan and Vashj are outlaws of their people, so it would be assumed they are not all that friendly to members of said races.

Not to mention how the surviving draeni would react to the orcs.

But that would be g*y for the following game reasons: They are all Legendary characters, which don't seem likely to be killed by any random players. Ergo, if hostile, they'd simply be there to view for a moment before you died instantly... Furthermore, as much as they're exiles and unwants to one party, it's feesible to assume that for the same reasons they'd be helpful to the other party. And the Draeni might be the hunt mobs on Outland for all to kill for all we know...

Actually as far as I know one raids of players occasionally kill leaders such as Thrall, Jaina, and possibly others. It takes multiple players to do so, but it's been done.

Naturally it's possible, but obviously not intended (by the creators) which is my point, that's all.

oh its intended alright. thats half the reason they are there. they are meant to be killed but also meant to be incredibly hard to. but they are definetly meant to be attempted to be killed.

and yea i expect them to be hostile. theres a chance they might not eb and can give quests to both factions, etc....and even though furion let him go, i doubt things are fine btw them and the horde (who hates legion) and alliance (with NE).

Just speculating here, but perhaps Kil'Jaden could give a quest to Horde players to hunt him down, thus Illidan and his followers being hostile?

Spoon-O-Death

and rumour has it that illidan is also about level 500, so hutning him down is a NO.

he's the strongest NPC in the game. however he isnt lvl 500 (well he could be but his stats wouldn't be that outrageous, the 500 many npcs are is actualy a fake number). also kil'jaeden giving quest.....would be kinda like deathwing giving away candy, just doesn't seem right.

So they havent got a clear level count on Onyxia yet? all Iknow is if Illidan is anywhere near in her range of power, there is no point in trying to kill him.

Where there is a will, and a very large party, there is a way. If Archimonde has taught us anything it is that anyone can be killed.

I have a hard time speculating who would be stronger among Onyxia and Illidan, though Onyxia is by far sexier.

actually KCG in closed beta 60 lvl 60s with the best weapons / armour in the game got her to 65% health. maybe with the hero classes its possible, but otherwise not.

rudynoname

with 60 lvl 60s it is possible, however there is a stratagy involved that needs to be figured out. its all about the startagy. before you know it 60 lvl 60s will take her down then 50 then 40 etc... it is possible Spoon, theye are meant to be killed, its just really difficult. and Illidan will be even more difficult but also possible.

I dont think it is possible in this patch, but maybe as it becomes more balanced. it might be possible.

rudynoname

Spoon it is possible. balancing classes is goign to improve how they act amongst themsleves. the classes are going to be balanced, not made stronger. i hate to say it but its possible and i think you need to accept that. true by the time someone actualy does do it it may be several patches in the future but it wont be because of the patch changes. only reason its not happening right now is because there is no large lvl 60 community and ppl are going to fail 100 times before the finaly get it right and then everyones gonna be like "hey i just beat up onyxia" and the response will be "whats ur point?".

I have to disagree with you there, since the fear nerf to warlocks, I have died numerous times against mobs, not just against Alliance, if/when they fix the infernal/doomguard will also be a huge change.

no, its possible to defeat her. it's been done in internal testing, where they know the strategy. and they didnt even need a full group to do it either.

So we are basically just guessing and testing?

Where's the fun of fighting a giant dragon if you already know how to beat her? Most of the fun is finding out and trying to survive long enough.

rudynoname
08-01-05, 02:55 PM
yes. theres a strategy. the better your stratagey the easier it is to kill anything. you could jsut go and spoil it for yourself but its better to try and find out urself.
