View Full Version : Is Illidan still in service of Kil'Jaeden?
I'm not sure, but the question has been bothering me for a while now.
At the final of the Blood Elf campaign, he was still under his service, even though he was trying to run away from Kil'Jaeden. But since he failed (again) at destroying Icecrown, he shouldn't be under Kil'Jaeden's command anymore. Anyone know?
Also, another question that's been bothering me for a while now. Are the Fel Orcs in Outland under Illidan's command? Normally they should be since he dubs himself Lord of Outland. But does anyone know if he was accepted?
Thanks

From what i read in a Blizzard message, in World of Warcraft the most powerfull npc is Illidan (the Lich King is not in WoW actually, maybe in a possible expansion).
That means the player will be able to reach him at some point of this game.
I don't know if this possibility is already in the retail or if it is one of those world events Blizzard will add with the time, but on the paper Illidan is in WoW.
Only when he will be introduced in WoW , we will know a lot more about his situation and in what physical state he is, if Kil'jaeden gave him or not his reward for his failure (remember what happened to Ner'zhul).
Kil'jaeden has certainly not killed him, as despite his failures , Illidan can continue to be an usefull agent with all his followers, as the Burning Legion is already planning another invasion.
I highly doubt the Fel Orcs are now following Illidan, or if there are any alive in Outland.

Pardon my ignorance as well gentlemen, for I do not see anything in this thread that can be read as so to get such an idea from. I see no mention of Malfurion, but the post have I just quoted. Forgive me, but I fail to see the connection to this topic, and this comparison.

Well Kalos they mention above that Illidan is the most powerfull NPC of all, and unless Malfurion is missing I dont buy it

Umm... This is going to be a newsflash for you, but he IS missing. And his exact words were "in world of warcraft", thus any NPC that does not feature in the game, is not being counted. Read the Lore thread more often. We knew about Furion's disappearence six months ago. It's nothing new.

Well, Malfurion is trapped within the Emerald Dream, and since Blizzard has said the Emerald Dream will be enterable at multiple occasions, it _should_ be safe to assume Malfurion is in the game.

Short answers: yes, Illidan still works for Kil'Jaedan (to do otherwise would be to quite literally bite the hand that feeds him), and no, he would get his scrawny butt kicked by Furion in a split-second.

Kil'jaeden may threaten Illidan and all that, but lets face it, he needs Illidan. There is no one else already established enough to do some damage to Kil'jaeden's enemies that would be friendly to his cause. The only possible situation I could see if Kil'jaeden favouring Kael'thas, and having Illidan usurped as Lord of Outland.

KCG I agree with wardragon if by using a combination of spells malfurion can destroy archimonde then he can certainly destroy illidan. Archimonde was supposed to be the most powerful of sargeras followers yet he was defeated by one of malfurion's spells.

combination of spells? i think it was a combination of dispells :p, and malfurion did nothing, who did was the spirits, who burned arch + the teldrassil, with the tremendous energy, though it almost had destroyed the tree

And Archimonde got beaten by the Tree´s energies I think, and the mass-wisp strat
Well im glad to know that Furion owns Illidan.
I mean in the game yes it shows, but then again there might be some info on books that say otherwise

Teldrassil's the new tree, not the one that Archimonde was aiming for. That was Nordrassil, the original world tree. But I do agree, that was nature as a whole rising up to quell the demonic influence. All of Furion's power is derived from nature, it's not really his own, more so he acts in a manner pleasing to nature, as if it was a entity with thought, and it grants him use of it's power. Druids are all like this, they start doing acts that are against the greater will of the land, they lose thier powers granted to them.
