The office door slammed with a snap, the glass frames decorating the oak centre shattered with a deafening crash, but Kip didn't mind. Kip didn't care about anything.
At least that's what everyone thought. Kip, however, saw differently. Things mattered to him, it's just something of more importance was at hand- the war was nearing.
"Left, right, right, left, right, left, right," He whispered under his breath as he paced hastily down the labyrinth of corridors.
"Almost there..." He hissed, his stringy black hair bouncing about glowing grey eyes. He threw out a pale, scarred hand and with a shout- vanished into nothingness.

Andy thumped his fists on the desktop with a shout.
"Darn it!" He cried. Poppi looked up.
"What's wrong?" She asked from across the room, her voice was as smooth as her silky blonde hair.
"Nothing!" Andy shot back sarcastically, "It's just the fact that this is the third time the bulbs gone offline this hour!!"
Poppi laughed at him, Andy swore under his breath.
"Don't worry about it, Kip'll be fine." She said, measuring a peculiar silver instrument with a tape measure. Andy sighed.
"It's not Kip I'm worried about- it's us."
Poppi paused midway through writing down her measurements. She looked up from her aging notepad and shot Andy a significant glance.
"It can't be them," He said in a strained whisper, "It's only Monday"
Poppi put down her notepad and began moving the various datapads from the table to a hidden trapdoor behind the lime green couch she had been resting on moments ago.
Andy looked at her, his brow furrowed and at last came to a decision.
"Don't worry about those," He said grimly. Take the bulb and get out of here.
Poppi straightened up,
"You can't seriously believe you can stop them!" She said in disbelief.
"No," Andy said, rushing over and jamming the bulb in her trembling hands, "But I can sure as hell slow them down."
Something banged at the front door and Andy turned to Poppi, who had become rooted to the spot.
"What are you waiting for? Go!"
She stood silent for a moment and then, without a word, spun and hurried down the hall. The crash of splintering wood echoed throughout the attic and four men entered the room.
Andy ran to the wall and unsheathed a jeweled sword.
"Okay boys," He said with a smirk, "lets dance."
