Narrative Poem
The Mammelukes
The Mamelukes are warriors of the sword
Only serving their mighty lord
Turkish slave, raised to arm
First in battle at the alarm

Then the crusaders entered Egypt’s soil
The Mamelukes gave them blood and toil
Their blood washed the desert sand
The Mamelukes took back their land

Then Halaku and the Mongols roar
Warriors never seen before
They came from the mountains on horse
Mameluke land in their coarse

They burned Baghdad to the ground
Muslims killed, slain and bound
The Mongols used skulls to make mountains
Turning the desert to bloody red fountains

Then the Mamelukes took government control
Warriors now on the patrol
They stopped the Mongols at the Syrian border
All hail the Mameluke order

The Mamelukes took Damascus back
Stalling the great Mongol attack
Then might Halaku died
Thus turning the battle tide

The Mamelukes had freed their home
Free now to ride and roam
Sons of Egypt with scimitars raised
Ready to fight and battle crazed

Then Napolean came with his guns
He slew the Egyptian sons
They charge, but were blasted down
Thus Napolean took their crown

The Egyptian lords were finally dead
Upon the desert, their blood was bled
The Mamelukes are no more
Napolean reduced them to history and lore

Interior Monologue Poem
LUCIFER

“Why oh lord did you banish me
Why did you reject me

I choose arrogance instead of right
I questioned you invincible might

I am Iblis, I am forsaken
Oh my lord how I was mistaken

I cannot be forgiven
From heaven’s gates I was driven

What does Adam have over fire
Why did Adam gain your desire

What do humans have in your eyes
Hear me now, my pleas and cries

Your child is still crying lord
In eternal damnation, I am bored”

Character Poem:Godzilla
I burned Tokyo to the dust
The great lizard upon Earth’s crust
I am the defender and destroyer
Having neither worker or employer

I took Gidrah into the water
I defeated the Biollante daughter
I burned Mothra’s wings
The Volcano my prison of fiery rings

I have temper vast and wide
I have honor as well as pride
Science and nature made my soul
For now I am never whole

Godzilla is the strongest king
Unbeatable monster, unbeatable thing
Green scales and razor back
Godzilla is on the attack

List poem
Eid al Fitr
Rushing and buying so many things
Too little time to stay
Relatives from overseas
Cooking must be done now
Too many choices for presents
Too many things to choose
Prayer must be done
Babies need to be tended
So much work
So little time
Cooking and baking
Sowing and buying
Cleaning and brooming
Learning and earning
Tending and soaking
None of it gets done on time

Alliteration Poem
Moby Dick
The blasted, befuddling buffoon of a whale
The white, wily warrior of an aquatice
He stole my real and reliable leg
He took my skipper, my skin, and scab
He took my crew, my career and cauldron
That whale took my very serious soul
He took my mind and I am mental
I am Ahab and this my alarm
Beware of Moby the Monster
He will wreck all your resources
He will take all over the tumultuous tides
He is evil as the damned devil
He is as cruel as the cunning cat
Beware the white whale

Personification
The Large Carbon Stone
Honorable and strong, forever watching
You watched as the earth turned to magma
You were there when the iron fell
You were there when the crust was made
Yet you stayed silent
You observed the magma harden
For five billion years you were eroded
The pain you felt as the water slowly killed you
You were turned back into minerals
Then those minerals formed the first protein
Then you were alive

In Remembrance of Napolean
French butcher man of evil heart
You tore the very world apart
You murdered and pillage the earth
The world was your right of birth
You chose to make yourself a lord
Pulling the world on a silvery chord
You destroyed so many a nation
Reaping havoc and devastation
You invaded in winter time
You pompous, short, midget slime
You will be remembered for your arrogance and brash
You will be remembered for being careless and rash
Only one thing I can tell
Damn you Napolean, damn you to hell

Metaphor Poem
Black Ink
Sinking in the oozing black gel
Seeing nothing that I could tell
A prisoner of my very soul
My very heart has turned to coal
A prisoner who has forgotten
Only seeing the black and rotten
A squid of deception peer low
An eternal viscous fluid flow
The flow is the death of an old man
Stand upon the shore of the dark sand

A Letter Poem

Bumlebee

Dear Mrs. Bumblebee
Hiding in your little tree
Collecting honey for your hive
Trying to live and survive
I see you making you little throne
Thinking that this all yours to own
I see you with a deathly smile
Just sitting and waiting awhile
Beware me, the outsider
Yours truly, your friendly spider
