Odd that the other thread vanished. Well, since it is gone I might as well comment on the state of the forum a little. It is true that, when compared to the past, the FFF appears to be approaching death's door. I am of the mind, however, that comitted writers and responisve readers, in tandem with dedication, can keep this place afloat and make it a good place to come to.
I remain of the mind that the place is healthier than it was a month ago, and we should give thanks for that. And eachother a pat on the back.
We can bring it back to living quite easily from here.

For a while now, there have been really good stories on these forums that weren't being actively written in but were being read by many. After the last few semi-forum wipes, I was wondering if anyone felt the old stories should be brought back. Reposted. Should they be stickied so they aren't lost again? Or just brought back. Or not at all.
One example I'm thinking of is Sumiyoshi's Odd Bedfellows. And of course, if the author chooses, they may take down/ continue to work on the writing at their leisure.

Besides, you made some valid posts concerning my poems and stories.

Ask the writers to bring them back (if they're still here, I understand a fair few have moved on) and then have them repost them. Don't sticky them though, those stories are good enough to bump themselves and the last thing you want is to crowd the top of the page.
Good idea. I can also bump them myself if the need arises. In additon, the forums are more stable now, so second page threads shouldn't go BOOM every other day anymore. :y-thumbsu

Actually I've "graced" this forum quite a bit as reader. Never posted anything though. I'm not much for writing fanfics but I may have an original story or two for you in the works. Does everything here have to be fantasy?
One of these days I'm going to finish reading your story Master Flak. I liked the first two posts but school's kept me from getting any farther. Over the break maybe.
No, things don't need to be fantasy. They could be autobiographical even.
Oh, and I encourage you to post. Please. It makes the authors feel warm and fuzzy inside. Also, if you're looking for a good read, read the posts in Kilrogg's Space thread. They're good.
Oh, and if you think you'll finish reading my story, think again. I've posted thirteen chapters...out of forty one. But if you want me to feel good, read Gauntlet and the Broken Angel! It's relatively short if you read the whole thing, only five posts, one of them an out-of-narrator intro and one of them an in-narrator intro. Both intros add up to less than an entire post.
One warning though, one of the posts is very graphic and will upset you if you're easily upset by horror.

Well, since this is a forum based upon writing and all that good stuff, I have a question to pose about the pacing of a story and how that ties into description. Should one, when describing an event or course of events, take the care to be thorough, or should one place emphasis on the crucial parts of said event. That is, if one spends a lot of time depicting a scene then perhaps it will get bogged down but if one sacrifices such a degree of thoroughness then the scene ,ight be unlcear. So, how does one strike a balance, or does one choose what to do based upon the situation?
Shindog
11-12-04, 03:46 PM
That really depends on what you're writing and what you're purpose is. Also personal preference and style play a huge part. Here's my two cents worth.
For short stories, especially ones that are under five pages, description should be left to a minimun. This is for the sake of brevity.
In novels however you have more pages to work with and the reader's more dedicated. This gives you the chance to paint pictures with you're words that you wouldn't normally be able to.
Fantasy writing is different from writing stories that take place in the real world because you can't assume that people know everything that you're writing about. This means more descriptions have to be given. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you have to descibe everythign though, if you do the reader doesn't get to use his imagination.
That's the key, in my opinion, you never want to kill the readers imagination but you still want to give it enough to work with. It's a matter of balance I say. Pat McManus, who is one of the greatest short story writers alive today says that if you discribe just enough, the readers imagination will take them places you would never go, it lets them build the world around there own exereinces which you could never write.
As for my personal style, I like to paint a scene at the beginning with just a few sentences to create an image in the mind and a feeling in the heart of the reader. After the stage is set in their mind though, I try not to make them change in by adding anything new or changing things.
That's my take on it. Any others?

Shindog's take seems pretty accurate. There can't be a single rule everyone follows in every situation.
However, there are some very frequent grammar errors I see on these forums that make me feel upset. As writers, we are showing off the english language- should we not at least write correctly? Matters such as those mentioned above are matters of style or preference, but grammatical mistakes I feel should be corrected as a whole. No, I'm not being a grammer nazi- but you're and your are two VERY different things, as are its and it's. It throws me off to read something with mistakes like that in it, and I propose a forum-wide effort to reduce the number of such mistakes.

Shindog: makes sense to me. Now that you mention it I had not really thougt about the reader's imagination in that light.
Flak: grammar is necessary. I myself recommend that one should revise and read over (to find errors in) an installment (of a work) at least 3 times.
Also, for those who read my own little story, I would have posted a new chapter by now, but I have a lot of school work and wrestling devours my energy. I mean, I have the next chapter "completed" but I think it needs some tweaking (and so it is not up to snuff).
I eagerly await it, my inquisistive friend.

I agree completely. One simple way to reduce these errors, at least with stories, is to write them in a writing program. eg: Word, appleworks etc. Most, if not all word prossessing programs have spelling and grammar checks. Then, it is a simple matter of cutting-paste to move it to the forums. I don't care as much for a simple review, or a quick post like the ones on her, but when one is writing a story, they should be showing off. and if you're expecting good reviews, that will throw people off. expecialy flak. a grammer nazi and respected mod.

Umm, Flak, you do know that grammar is a recent invention right? Before i think the early 1800's there was no defined grammar, in any language, just look at latin if you want an example, So keeping grammar accurate, would actually be creating something new

Mystic, as interesing as that is, I am afraid that it doesn't matter. Now don't take this the wrong way, I mean, I understand your point, but we still need to have grammar so that things are orderly and understandable. So regardless of when it was created, grammar is still essential.

What i was trying to say is that grammar isnt necesarry, punctuations and all arent either. People with any intellegence can discern what you are trying to say. If someone made a story with no grammer, and some1 else of equal intellegence reads the story with grammar it is entirely likely that they will ahve the same reaction to it. Grammer just makes it easier to sort things out, on the other hand, spelling does matter
And I was disagreeing. :y-curtain

Their and they're are two different words, before grammar was invented people said they are, and there was no real slang, so you are right, it is completely different, it is not even the same word
Pretzel
17-12-04, 02:05 PM
Yet so often when I see one version of the word there/their/they're it is the wrong one. To these forum they seem to be one in the same. Grammar
is The study of how words and their component parts combine to form sentences.
All words are component parts of eachother. Therefore, misusing any word is a contradiction to English Grammar.
MysticWolf
17-12-04, 03:35 PM
But English grammar is something new, that was inveted centuries after the creation of the language. Many new words have been added to the language since it was created, and many dialects have also been formed, the newest, which is the englished used in America, I believe was the first to dialect to have official grammar. The same is true with all languages, grammar is just evolution, something that naturally takes place over time. It was created to make righting and reading easier. Everything humans make, are made tomake are lives easier, or at least that is the general goal.

so your saying that if somehting is new it doesnt exist? wow.
Grammer is 200 years old according to you, does that mean I, you, Televesion, computers, Telephones, the rules of monopoly, all don't exist simply because they are new? I think not. Grammar has been kept accurate for YEARS as well. Did you go to school? why do you think there's english class. End Yes, there has been defined grammar forever. In many languages. For example in spanish, the word Jugar means "to play" Now I am going to conjugate that verb in the present tense
Yo Juego
Tu Juegas
El Juega
Nosotros jugamos
Vosotros jugais
Ellos juegan
See. Without grammar, any one from 200 years ago would not have been abke to tolk in any person except the invinitive of any verb. Just because us Anglos use play for everything but one tense (I play, you play, he plays, we play, they play) doesn't mean others don't. You have to get your facts straight before saying something like that.

Just a thought:
Is there any reason why our benelovent mod has locked the stickied rules thread when it clearly says in the title 'FanFictionForum Rules and General Question Thread'.
Does he not know that it states in the thread that questions pertaining to the rules may be asked in the thread?
Does he not know that people can't ask questions in a locked thread?
Does he not know that he would have been able to avoid question threads wasting valuable forum space if he had left that stickied thread open?
...Or does he just like closing threads in a macho display of mod power?

You've got a point there ralf. However, it was probably just an oversight on Flak's part. I know that he closes a thread when he thinks that further posting in it would be unnecessary, so he probably thought, not noticing the question part of the post, that any further posting would be extraneous.. Unfortunately, Flak is unable to address this issue at the moment because he is away. I am sure, though, that he will take care of this when he returns at the end of the week.
The thing is, Ralf, I made an honest mistake- when seeing the thread title I assumed it meant the questions you had answered in your post, and I failed to see the sentence about asking questions. Will do.
But here's the problem- you need to stop talking to me like that. It makes it INCREDIBLY hard to apologize for a mistake. You're assuming a lot of things in your post here. First off, you could have just asked- but no, you need to come up with scenario after scenario after scenario, the last one no doubt an attempt to make me look bad.
I'll say this, Ralf. You need to change your attitude.

So, in the interests of building a better community, please at least try to be understanding and civil.

Note this section, folks: Because so far it just seems you're tampering with my posts in order to hide your shortcomings. Moderate to the rules, not to booost your ego.

This is what ralfy said, incase Flak wants to get editing again. Of course, he might edit mine too which would make this.. obsolete.

I have my reasons. Instead of banning him for offensive mannerisms, I'll just delete his posts if they offend me. There's no such thing as free speech on these forums and he needs to learn that, though I doubt he will (he hasn't yet, and I've talked to him about it before).
And that's all I'm going to say on the matter, as questioning my actions further would be pointless.

Did do. Thanks for pointing it out, though I saw it before I saw this. If you ever wonder why something isn't edited the moment it goes wrong, it means I'm not at the computer (school, sleep, Mom's house). But thanks, again.

There's a difference between insulting someone and offending them and just saying something. Ralfwarg has, and he admitted to it on MSN, been attempting to insult me, and it has come to the point at which I will no longer stand for it.

Yet, you may not be much of an author but if you want that only has to be a temporary state of being. Any one can learn to write. This is a good place to learn. If you are willing to take some constructice advice from some of the more experienced writers here, you'll improve quickly. Any questions just ask. Most people here are really friendly and helpful. The following is advice from the Book of Shinney. It's by no means suggested to be the law of writing. It's just something that's helped me out and I wanted you guys to consider it and let me know what you think. Do I have a point, or am I just being picky and pretentious?
This whole bit is about naming. I know you're thinking "What's in a name?" Well Shakespear himself understood that there is actaully quite a bit involved in names. Some of his naming choices were down right brilliant but that's not my point.
I know it's hard to come up with original names but it gives you a level of control that if you use wisely can really help your story. By creating a name you can control the reader's first impression of the character.
I'll give you a couple of examples. These are some characters from a story I'm slowly plugging away at. Read the name and think about what kind of character they should be.
WolfClaw.
Groll.
Borden Cale.
Got any first impressions yet?
WolfClaw is a naturalist ranger, Groll is a huge and intimidating brute from the most wild races of humanity, meanwhile Mr. Cale is a pround and noble palidin-type knight. Hopefully you should have kinda gottent those impressions from the names without any further discription. This is especially helpful in short stories where space isn't unlimited. If the reader can picture you're character based off the name alone than you can move on.
Even when they reader can't assume anything based on the name it should atleast fit in their mind. I've had a lot of people tell me that my real name doesn't fit me. I'm sure you've met people who just didn't seem like a Micheal or a Gabe or what ever. In real life we can't always control if our kids grown into their name. In fiction we can. Why not take advantage of that?
Well I'm done. That was random I know but I just wanted to get it out there and spur up a little disscussion on how to help each other. Any questions, comments, disagreements or jokes about my grammar and/or body oder?
Hey, I was thinking about making another FFF contest, you know, where people submit short stories and then we vote for the winner.
Magical Cow used to make them (I think he made two and Sumi won the last one with his DotA story) and they were quite a lot of fun. So, should any of you agree with the idea of me starting FFC 3, I'll go ahead, and if you don't, I might start it anyway or not.

Hey, as I am coming to realize that, well, writing can be fun under certain circumstances, and since what i'm trying to do right now is turn my RPG into a story with many authors, I was thinking that maybe I could actually try to convert my RPG into a well written fiction from many perspectives a la Martian Chronicles. Granted, it will take a while for each installment, as we need to see where the story will go long before I write it, but I promise it'll be good! Maybe... sorta... whatever. So, how does that idea sound? Just checking before I jump headfirst into fiction writing.
So, how does that idea sound?
I know another specific RPG that's being converted into a story and I think it's a great idea. You should go for it.
Also, I might decide to take a third attempt at moving in the FFF again, so hi once more everyone.

On that note don't be afraid to delete/change a characature to make the story more interesting. I think that rpgs can provide alot of inspiration but they tend to have rather choatic plots that don't always flow as you were hoping they would. I have learned this

Nio, that's why I'd be telling it from many perspectives. As the members of the RPG are just members of a tremendous army, they have little control over the outcome of events. Therefore, the general plot is planned and organized. The same thing follows with the story. If I find something a player does to be either distasteful or uninteresting, I'll move to a different player, or make up a minor character out of scratch.
@Flak I got bored with it. Besides, I like this idea a lot better.
Get ready for a new member in this forum.
There will soon be a new member to this forum. His name is TOONCRAFTER, he will be writing stories and so on. He is a very nice guy, and I met him in warcraft ages ago. One day I stopped warcraft, and now after all this time, he e-mailed me. I told him that I would want to have people getting ready for him before he really comes. So guys, please, treat Tooncrafter nicely, he is nice to me, and I hope that you can be nice to him also. So get ready for your warmest welcome to our new friend ToonCrafter.

So far it's looking like Cas->Random gunslinger->Ame(maybe)->Draco->Pure soldier...
But keep in mind I won't be quoting, and I might add or take away small details. Artistic license, biatch!
And I finished part one of the prologue after the first final, I'll do the rest tonight. It's just that my stomach is shouting curses at me for not eating, so it's getting hard to think straight.

Well, it seems that we might as well reveal some more then. It is funny that, here on this forum where fiction dwells, that one fiction could be perceived as truth. For you see, that thread recently locked contained a falsehood. Heh, and it was fun to see the trap go off without a hitch. I hate to say it, but I have played a joke on you guys. For, in fact, I am far from female, much less Flak's girlfriend. I feel bad for this. It was my idea, and so I apologize. Falk is undeserving of great blame, and I hope that we can all look at this, laugh, and move on.

You are indeed a desperate soul. Perhaps you did not notice how things happened in that thread. I referred to myself as a guy and then Flak said I became girl when he got to know me. It was all an elaborate ruse. NewHorde, you adore flak too much. My good fellow, this is the internet. You can make friends on it, but they are just internet friends. Do not take it so seriously. This is not some weird adoration for Flak. It is because he made me felt as if I have a family again. I like the feeling when I am with Flak. I do not believe Flak is lying to me, even though the truth is in front of my eyes. I refuse to believe it until I hear Flak tells me that it was a lie directly. And I do not have high hopes on him telling me, because I know sooner or later he will, and I shall have a heartbreak. So please, just keep things the way it is, do not let me know the truth, for I would not be able to take it.

Huge mental problems.... :y-mm: :y-crazy:
Anyways, I was wondering if Flak would be as so nice as to repost "The Vengence Of The Night Elves", which I believe was purged since the last time I was here. :y-candle:
Because Flak already told me, brotherly love is different from what he have for you.
Truth be told, it IS different.
At least, not originally, because due to my nature (treating those I hang with as brothers) you were both brothers to me (as a good deal of the people here are). However, it did change. At the time I said what I felt for you two was different, it was true. Sorry NH, you're a good guy, but there's seriously something wrong here.
I feel...in danger sometimes. As if someone were stalking me. Everytime I go on AIM, it's BAM!!! message from NH. I don't mind that, I mean, everytime Inq goes online, it's BAM!!! message from Flak (I'm fast on the IMs), but your treatment is weird. Off. Calling me Shan'do, saying you were jealous of Inq. I'm honestly scared of you, NH. I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings, but I feel I have to tell you the whole picture, so you can act more realistically in the future. You don't go around worshipping people. When I came here, I worshipped KCG, sucked up to him. It made me the 'bad n00b' in the eyes of the more respected forummers (Kajenx, for one) and that image stuck. No one likes worshippers.
I'm telling you, because your actions, your coveting of my posts (your obsession with posting after me, for example) are off. They're weird, and believe me, several forummers will always remember it and think you're weird for it. So, knock it off. If you want to make a respected name for yourself here, or even preserve the name you have as the new author, stop worshipping me.
When I came here, Ghoul King was the one who ended my idiocy and foolishness, made me act normal. I hope that, while this hurts you, you realize your own shortcomings and get over your troubles. I know your life hasn't been a jaunt in the park, but neither have many of ours. We all have problems, and we all depend on eachother in ways, but ultimately, we are just internet friends. Just internet friends. I'm not the kind of guy you worship, even if you didn't know me in real life. My internet life's record is no t flawless. I've done so many things wrong, it's a wonder I am a moderator. In real life, there are even more flaws.
I'm saying this for your sake. Stay here, NH, and be one of our number, stay in these forums, increase your ability in the writing sphere and partake of our community. But hero worship is disgusting.
-this has been an official message from Flak, and I believe that while it may seem cold it comes from the depths of his heart.
@KillAllZerg- It was deleted in a forum semi wipe. I'd repost it, but I personally don't have it. The admin keeps what he sees fit (which isn't a whole deal) but I'm a recent mod who isn't a record keeper of any sort. If BullRoarer has his Vengeance, he can repost it, but I can't do anything to help you. Sorry.

Nah, I understand. It's a pain to get dirty out-of-place-threads in something like a fiction forum. You want a neat collection of stories and such. I really do wonder where Vagrant is though... since I haven't gotten a concrete answer. Can he be reached anywhere?
I have an idea for a story. Will it be well-recieved if it is not Warcraft-related? I used to write fanfics and such but since I quit computer games I realized they seem somewhat shallow from the outside. At the same time they have a sort of charm, because there's already an entire established world and a wealth of history and knowledge to build upon. I don't think I'll write fan-fiction though.

Ok... About a week or two havn't been on this forum... I thought this site either broke down or it closed... I guess it's just me... with the window 95 old computer and 28k internet speed these people I live with have.
BTW, thank you for being truthful Flak. Though very heartbreaking, I can see the sense in that. Hope I can still be friends with you. I hereby thank everyone in this forum for their warmth for me, my gratitude can not be told by words. I love you guys.
One last thing, Flak, (or any others, if they bother to read this,) do you have any romance advise? I am going mad for this girl, I can't stop thinking of her. But the things that sucks are: A. I don't have classes with her anymore. B. She got a bf, and even if she broke up with her bf, I still don't have the guts and nerve to tell her how I feel. And now she got another new bf. Is there any possible way to attract a female's positive attention without using the sensitive words like "love" or "like" or "crush" and any other words?
Pureauthor
02-02-05, 05:40 AM
... Take it from me, NH.
You. Need. Help.
What on earth makes you think you can get a girl to like/love you without showing her that you like/love/whatever her?
What makes you think that 'love', 'crushes', 'like', etc, are girly?!
What in God's name is with your puppy-dog obssession with Flak?! Come to think of it, what was with Flak's puppy-dog obssession with KCG? Uh, but maybe we shouldn't go there...
Anyway, if you really want to get to know this girl: (And I advise laying it off until she and her BF are no longer an item. And even then, wait. You don't want to be the guy on the rebound.)
Step One: Check to see if she doesn't run screaming every time you talk to her. Okay, maybe not that extreme, but if everytime you pop up, she makes a polite excuse or something and leaves, forget it. (And if you haven't even talked to her yet, start.)
Step Two: I she seems friendly to you, or is okay being seen with you, steel yourself.
Step Three: Find a good time to talk to her. Good times include: (When she is alone. When she is not busy. Maybe over the phone, but make sure she knows who she's talking to.)
Bad times are: When it's twenty seconds before class and she's frantically searching for a book. When she's hanging out with her friends. When she's acting really chummy with another guy.)
Step Four: Walk up to her and ask her out. (Would you like to go out with me on Saturday?)
Note: On the whole, I think this thing is a bad idea, not to mention it's probably a crush. But only you are in a position to know that. BTW, how old are you?

I think I'll be honest as well NewHorde. I'm not joking or anything.
The only healthy relationship with the net is to accept than no one gives a damn about you. I don't give a damn about Flak, Flak doesn't give a damn about me, we don't give a damn about you etc. because of the simple fact that we don't know each other. Developing an imaginary intimate friendship on the net will just bring you a lot of hurt mate. Because if you become so involved, one day you'll realise that no one cares, and it'll all be for the worst.
Get real friend, really. Finding warmth and such on the net is just no a way to lead a life. In fact it can be really dangerous, emotionally. So, you know, turn towards the real life, because the screen in front of you is just a cold machine, and the things you read are just pixles, only impressions of those you count as intimate friends. For your sake I hope you learn to cope with that.

Even if I were capable of pity, I wouldn't pity you. Your life isn't the best, granted, but no one truly has a perfect life (and if they do, may they be warned that the perfection will end soon).

Noone does, real life is just full of disappointment. Like when in DotA, the enemy hero walks over a hill and u lose line of sight. Like when your about to get that Skeleton King and he just just JUST gets his reincarnation. Like...o wait, real life...
Real life sucks, plain and simple. If you think ur life sucks, theres probably someone getting bhuttsecksed in prison somewhere, so be glad your not him. Be thankful for what you got.
Now if u live in an upturned recycle bin and eat the neighbour's cat's food, i think you have a right to complain.

For whatever reason I feel compelled to share a piece of advice given to me months ago by my brother when I just started writing [fan] fiction. I am not offering this out of a sense of superiority but because what he said to me, while pretty simple, always comes back to me. He said: “Remember, writing is an art.” Now, I am not going to lecture on literery devices or on what art is, but I can say how I have born it in mind and considered it.
Writing, as we all know, is its own form of expression and communication, and in a traditional sense, there are certain qualities in writing that are considered artful. I do not know them all, nor do I pretend to. In the brief time I have been alive, I suppose I have read quite a bit (in a strictly relative sense), but I do not know everything writers do to express the meaning and relate the experiences of their senses and imagination. So, in my own way, I try to not just relate what is going on, but to do so in a way that flows well and interconnects.
So, what in the hell am I blathering about? Simply put, I am saying that writing is not just about style, and not just about content. It is about combining the two and presenting them in a well thought out and meaningful way. Search for new ways, words, and expressions to present elements in your stories, and take your time. If one rushes then a passage will not turn out as well as it might. Hold up your works not to a lofty standard, but take pride in what you are doing and try to make them as good as they can be. Mistakes will happen, but the skill of writing can be improved. Deeper meanings are usually a good thing, but the literal should be enjoyable (that is, balance is necessary).
I apologize for this eerie rant of mine, but I thought and felt that I had to do it.
To mimic a scene in AIR,
'That merits applause. *starts clapping slowly* Clap. Clap. Clap.'
No seriously. :y-thumbsu
The third fan fiction contest hereby has ended.

Hey, I wrote two new chapters for my story. But doesn't sound right at all when I proof read, I mean, yeh, I can feel the sense of weirdness, but I dunno what to do. Example: I try to make the old marine argue with the navy about the boy being a thief and if he should be taken to jail or not. But if you want to make it sounds tense and have the feeling of them shouting without really constantly writing the word shouting, what should you do?

LoL, back to Kingdom Hearts. :g laugh: :g laugh: :g laugh:
Ok, the song sounds so beautiful and got a good beat, but if you really listen to the lyrics, you'll probably throw up.
"Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before"
&
"Don't get me wrong I love you
But does that mean I have to meet your father?
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said "No,
I don't think life is quite that simple""
Also, there is one part I don't get, what does she mean like does that mean I have to meet your father? What's wrong with meeting her dad? What? Did the guy r*pe her and so she doesn't want her parents to know or what? I really don't get it, but it's disney music, it can't be something like that, right?
Sorry for spamming, (if you're talking about kingdom hearts at all, Flak, but I doupt this is spamming, is it?) but I just really wanna know this before I keep on writing my story, cause it does disturb me abit.

Fleagin's posts/threads in this forum have been deleted. I apololgize for any inconvenience he caused, but apart from bumping down threads the only damages seem to have been irritation.

I have been thinking of writing my own fiction story based in my world and I have posted it on Dragon's Rule, Shark's Defiance. It took me a while trying to think of adversary worthy of a dragon and then it hit me.

Though I was surprised, you're publishing a book? That's a lengthy process, not to talk about the cost. If it make you feel better, NewHorde and I will both buy a book from you once you publish it. (Plus, has anyone seen NH lately? He hasn't talk to me for a while now, I thought I might see him here, which is why I made an account for this other than just simply read the stories like I use to.)

It's okay. All is forgiven (that is, as long as you read more Forge of the Winds and give me feedback). Seriously, though, glad you are well.
And Bull, I am glad to see you here posting more.
