Yeah, I actually missed the whole fiasco since I had to be in class, but my girlfriend was here trying to download it. I really wish they had started signups at like 3 AM last night or something, to spread out the number of people trying to sign on. As it is, they had everybody trying to log on at exactly the same time...

Not very surprising considering Blizzard selected the dreaded fileplanet as partner since some times.

There are so many free places with big enough server to not break from the public rushes, not requiring all the "things" (to stay polite) you have to go through with fileplanet that i don't even understand why i am not surprised by Blizzard selecting one of the most user un-friendly place for their open beta .
Strange, isn't it ?

Oh well no world of warcraft for me i guess. On the positive note it means that i will not lose my sleeping hours before going to work.

Agreed, Blizzard Downloader is hidiously slow, even with no firewall or anything. It keeps telling me I have a firewall >_<

I hate the downloading system blizz has, why did they change to that way, who knows. The servers are on fire with the demand for keys = impossible to sign up. I seem to be the only one who is now WoW crazy. You wont see me on the open beta, I'll be waiting for some of the new storyline though

My esteemed colleague makes a good point. I left my Mac downloading the client before I left for work this morning, was there really any point since I'm a loley, northrend, european?

God damn file planet. I came so close to actually getting the beta key but their ****tard website kept going stupid on me. Now I'm hoping the WoW site gets up sometimes late tonight so I won't have so much competition.

I got the same problem KCG, i spent a whole damn half hour getting errors on that stupid fileplanent....

Anyway, I managed to snag a beta account, though it'll take 10 hours for me to dl he rest of WoW.

You can see me on server beta 6, with the Drawvern Hunter named either Anubiros/Anubite or Beer Baron.

Beta Server 6 it is? I'm planning on Dwarf Paladin if we're Alliance, and either Tauren Druid or Orc Shaman if we're Horde. Names undecided...

They cut me off. Two minutes away from finalising a 23 hour download and I get cut off.

Screw them then. Can't be bothered to tie up my line again, pissed off enough people with this delay already. I had far more people uploading from me, around 120kb's at sometimes, while only scraping around at 4-7 kb for most of the time, then two final hours of 0.00kb transfer, while the uploading from me continues... Damn them all to hell. Faster downloads my ass.

That Blizzard downloader, at least the Mac version, is an abomination! Crashed my finder.. the only programme ever to crash my frelling finder! So bugger 'em, File planet all the way! Never be afraid to pay for what you really want...

I'm stilll at work, but It will surely be downloaded by the time I get home. I'm so glad created my account in the fist hour of signup! Cerebral009 will see you, some of you, in there this evening!

nothing to with my laptop specs. ur computer is awesome as it is. it's likely my school. they throttle everything... though the blizz downloader seems to get past the firewall, nothing else does. not even warcraft or diablo.

Server 19, you say? I'll be there. I've decided to try out one character of each race if such is feasible. Possible WarDragon characters:

Gahaha, figured out just why my downloads always stopped after 150 or so MB.

Fair Access Policy - Basically I can only download 169 MB, then I have to stop and let it recover at a rate of 47 kbps, then I can start again. Stupid -_-

Finally got to play, but I've got some pretty ferocious lag. Graphics are messed up, too. Sigh... when did my nice computer officially turn into a piece of crap? :y-sad:

Anyways, I'm Tharkon, a level 1 Dwarf Paladin on server 19. Going to take another look at the nifty PDF manual before I log on again, though.

Hate to double post, but I forgot to mention something; two of the character names I listed above were already taken. My NE Druid is now Ambrosian, my Orc Warrior is now Dershak, and my Gnome Rogue is now Quark. All may be found on server 19.

Ironforge is fun, but I think I'll check out Kalimdor next time I log on. If you see Garn, give me a shout!

Hmnmmm. I must've gotten caught up in the excitement of it all, bacause I'm on server 34. It's a RP server, but not the right one. That means 0 SPF encounters for me then, eh?

Not to worry, my NE hunter is kicking plenty of monster ass - as repetative as that may be...

I'm on server 35, levelling as slowly as can be (currently 4). The lag reduced from 5 minutes to 6 seconds... at least it's playable now...
