...Hmm... I don't see how Blizzard thinks they're going to make any money w/ WOW... I just checked how much it costs a month:

Pay by the month: $15 per mo
Pay for 3 Months: $14 per mo
Pay for 6 mo: $13 per mo

A little higher than the 8-12 #'s they were tossing around.

I bet my ass on that release date, or one close to Christmas. Obviously any release date after 2004 is very highly unlikely. Or as KR mention, we might go burn down Blizz headquater. :y-sunny:

They WILL make money with WOW, trust me...

EQOA had roughly 50 thousand users
10 $ a month = 500 thousand dollars a month, plus basic game cost...

Trust me, MMORPGs rake in the money like... rakes... raking things...

I'd pay 10 for an MMO, but It's really pushing it for 15. That's my point, if you raise the price too high, then the demand drops off and you get less profit than if you had just lowered it 3-4 bucks...

I'm going for it. EQOA was 15 canadian, but in the end i still felt ripped off. A couple more dollars (20 canadian is it? 25?) is worth it if it's a really good game.

I just want them to have not much lag, a decent combat system, and no tanking/nuke wizards and i'll be happy...

Well, if I'm impressed during the Open Beta, I'm buying it. I guess I'm a lucky American, and if I'm pushed to buy it, I'm sure I'll be playing for ATLEAST 6 months, so I can live with $13 a month. Sympathy goes out to those who will be overcharged. :(

The bright side for me , is that Blizzard will start a new project and will be funded by the Wow players.

However, if Wow will have even a tiny, ridicolous portion of free stuff, I'll buy it.

Dragolas, you are aware that it's $15 American which works out to about $20 Canadian, right? I can't get it, I only get $10-$12 Canadian, a month. :cry:

I'm living in canada, and I worked out the cost of buying the game, subscribing and getting a decent video card to run the thing. The grand total came to $700 CAD before taxes, for 2 years of play. NO THX

I know that, unfortunately. It will sum up to 20 canadian, which sucks. I, have played worse games, for slightly less money monthly though, and if i know an MMORPG, it should die down after a few months. If i can save, money on the original price, i should be happy...

No, No, No!, Blizzards gave a release date for Wow, its on 23 November 2004.

and I bet my ass on it. At least I think Bilzz will keep their words. Who else here think that the game will be delayed?
