What I want to know is, why does he have a giant slingshot on his back?

It's not a slingshot. The battle.net discription clearly states that the Tauren Chieftain carries his tribe's totem everywhere with him. Those are totems on his back.

It aint that bad the first time I saw him it looked like a sling shot to me too, but obviously he is not that much into the game to understand what it really is :g shake: .

yup, that one goes to the report-pile.

never thought it was a slingshot actually, proll since I read they were totems before I saw the unit... however, I can see it now: an alliance camp in the way to the final goldmine, not enough troops to get through... so they load a peon into the tauren slingshot and fires it over the alliance line, peon builds hall, horde army grows, wins and lives happily ever after with lots of human skulls as trophies.
