This thread is all about WC connections to real life.

I noticed that the Nerubians are very much like the Egyptians......

Nerubians:
-Had great empire, taken over by the LK
Egyptians:-Had great empire, taken over by Alexander the Great

Nerubians:
-The Crypt Lord, a symbol of power in the Nerubian community, wears a headress in the style of the Egyptians
Egyptians:
-Ditto, except the Pharoah wore it instead

Another thing, the Nerubian's crypt lords have names that sound very alike to Egyptian ones, ie: Anub'Arak,Anubis

The Tauren and the Native Americans.
-Both live lives on grassy plains, cliffs, and occasianally forests.
-Both have peaceful, nature loving lifestyles
-Both have totems (At least, the Natives in B.C do)
-Both believe in spirits
-The Tauren have tho kodo, who they greatly rely on, while the Natives have the buffalo

The whole UD race is based off of egyptians. Like Necropolis is supposed to be the city of the dead in Egypt. Crypt? Crypts r found in Egypt.
NE are based off of Norse Mythology. In NM there are Light Elves and Dark Elves. NE are the Dark Elves. The world tree is based off the universal tree in NM, Yggdrasil. The 5 different colors of dragons is based off of the Five dark dragons of NM (black, bronze, red, blue, green). Shamanism is based off a Korea with Native American beliefs. Voodoo is well isnt it obvious? And Riflemen's guns are based off the French explorers. They dress and have teh same type of gun.

Not all the undead are based on Egyptian lore, just the buildings. The reason for that is that the Lich King copied Nerubian archetecture.

I fail to see how Korean stuff has anything to do with shamanism, but then I know jack about Korea.

Troll voodoo is similar in effects to real voodoo, but then again voodoo is not infact real.

Today, there are two virtually unrelated forms of the religion:

the actual religion, Vodun practiced in Benin, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Haiti, Togo and various centers in the US - largely where Haitian refuges have settled.
an evil, imaginary religion, which we will call Voodoo. It has been created for Hollywood movies, complete with "voodoo dolls", violence, bizarre rituals, etc. It does not exist in reality, except in the minds of most non-Voduns.

Hah. Necropolis is greek. And crypts are found EVERYWHERE in EVERY culture that has cremonial burial. Go to your city's graveyard, some time. I'm sure some rich person has a crypt or mausoleum in it.

Ahhh, yes. Forgot about the Yggdrasil-Nordrassil connection. I know that Siberia (Northeren Russia) used to practice shamanism.

Shamanism and Tauren beliefs as a whole are akin to Native American spiritual beliefs, as they are pretty much one and the same.



And the Twisting Nether has something to do with an old misconception of string theory...
