Hey people, i having some trouble for Warcraft II: Frozen Throne
I cannot create games, when i do create it goes into the place where people join but nobody can join i tried to create a game for my friend and I could play but he says taht he cannot join, what is my problem
I am thinking that it is something with firewall, but i do not currently have anti-virus or n e thing so i believe is a firewall that came with the computer and can be turned off, please tell me how. I have a windows XP.

ah yes this problem again...
1. do you have a router
if no - you cant host
if yes - great. continue.
2. do you know how to open ports?
if no - learn how to
if yes - you're one step closer
3. open port 6112 in TCP on your router

and there you have it, if your connection and pc is good enough, you can host with no worries

Uh you are wrong. I have a router and when it is hooked up I cannot host, but when I just hook up my internet directly to my modem I can host fine.

Then unhook the router when you play Warcraft, silly!

both ways work... but not going through your router is foolish unless you have other firewalls protecting your computer.

ill help you later, right now im going to get food at the shops

okay. (sorry for the double post, but whatever... nobody really cares...)
This site [ http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0445p ] is a blizzard tech support site all about port forwarding for hosting your custom games. I've added you to my msn thingy now, so if you still need help then you know what to do.

Bleh: the method u suggested rarely works, and didnt work for me

This is u can be able to host games on b.net:

1-enter dos(type in an run "cmd", by clicking on run from the start menu)
2-type in "ipconfig" at the dos screen. You should see a line that says "default gateway" There will be a numberr for that line.
3-Take that number, and go to a web browser. Type that number in the web address bar, just as it says in the dos screen. You might to put http:// infront of it.
4- Depending on what router u use, the screen will be different, and if it promptsu to log in, try typing "admin" for both the user name and the password, if u dont know what they are.
5- I know that if u are using a westell router, u should go to the configuation, and then service configuration section. On other routers, look for a section called port forwarding
6-Newer routers might have a list of programs to chose from that u can open up (mine has battle.net as a choice) If not, u will have to type in the port number 6112
I know that if ur using a westell, at service config, click on define custom service. Then, bullet the first option and hit next. Then, title it warcraft 3 or something, set 6112 as all of the values, and bullet it as a TCP. hit next and enable it.

http://www.gamesmith.biz/router.html

Those sites will help you out, because usualy its not as simple as simply disbaling firewall or clearing 6112 into ur firewall settings, as previosuly suggested
