PR is a mod of SC:BW that will run on the TFT engine. It will not cost any money and it will be exactly the same as SC:BW, down to the armor system, unit stats, resource gathering, attack types, add-ons, shields, no heros or creeps, everything. You will be required to have the SC and SC:BW cds to install the game (for soundfiles) and you will need the latest version of WC3:TFT to run it. There will be no single player campaign.
So far many unit models have been completed, such as the marine, scv, wraith, battlecruiser, infested terran, devourerer, overlord, hydralisk, ultralisk, infested terran, zealot, scout, carrier and dark templar. Also many building models have been done such as the hatchery, pylon, gateway, nexus, command center and factory.
New units include the Lurker (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/gallery.php?action=view&id=28) and the Corsair (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/gallery.php?action=view&id=29)
All these models can be seen at the gallery:
http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/gallery.php
In addition the mod will have its own campaign editor, and a program that can convert old SC maps to PR maps- amazing, huh?

I'm sorry, but I'm breathless right now...
Gawd...does PR have a lot of free time or what! (certainly not making fun, this sounds awesome)
I can't wait to see it.

New model, the: defiler (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/gallery.php?action=view&id=35).
Also there is an update concerning the mac os version of PR:
And secondly, BahamutZERO, whom many of you may have heard of, has agreed to do all of the coding for the Mac OS X version of Project Revolution. So all the questions about if there will be a Mac version are now answered.

So aside from graphical improvement why exactly are you doing this if everything is going to be the same..(And the graphical improvement could come with a badside-lag) I mean..I guess its cool...I guess..but it seems like may more trouble than it is worth for just graphical improvement.

16-01-05, 09:42 PM
The models are lower polies than the wc3 units, so no lag.
And besides, 3D SC is cool -- therefore worth it.
And in the end, we'll be albe to make "futuristic" maps playable in it, considering itll have the wc3 engine but the SC units and tilesets. WC3 lacks enhancabiltiy for futuristic style stuff, unless you really hack and slash it up or adda ton of models.

Does it require the BW cd to run?

Does it require the BW cd to run?
Yes - In order to increase compliancy with Blizzard on this project, they require you have legal version of WC3, TFT, SC, and BW. also it gets the sounds from the SC/BW discs.

Jeez. Hardly seems worth it does it? Oh well, I only need to buy TFT in that case.

Ok, that's cool... guess I'm all set then. Yay me and my obsession for Blizzard games. Now all I need is WoW and the Diablo battlechest.

The PR team is now releasing hordes of models almost daily, over the last few days they have released the models for the Zergling (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3825), Shuttle (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3814), and Three Doodads (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3794).
Along with the most recent addition of the zergling model, the PR team has added this comment:
The Project Revolution rampage does not abate! As you can see we did think the spinners a bit dull, though. So static. Maybe next time we'll make a unit with an animation spin; we'll see.

So possitive he are...
It doesn't really matter whether it ever gets finished. These are the kind of people that get hired by Blizzard to design and build more sexy games. And if that's not everybody's dream job (at least, everybody here), I don't know what is.

Because these kinds of things are never finished. Next people'll be telling me Project ROR is well on it's way to being completed.
In the impossible event it is finished, I am also seeing how many people are going to try to rub it in my face, only to laugh at them for being losers.
Kilrogg_Deadeye
22-01-05, 04:38 PM
But I'm sure there must be SOME mods being finished, right?
ArPharazon
22-01-05, 05:25 PM
Let me check...
Project ror: last updated 15-1-2004
Valhallah: last updated 12-3-2003
Tainted Blood: disappeared from the planet, as far as I can see.
Divine Right: Hmm... multiplayer finished, quite nice, tried it some time ago. But singleplayer... well... the site last updated 19-4-2004
War of Tortonus: last updated 7-8-2004
And that's basically all the Mods I know, I also keep track of some campaign(-serie)s, some finished, some unfinished, some finished-bugged-not fixed yet.
Kilrogg_Deadeye
22-01-05, 06:35 PM
God damn. Sooo...no Warcraft3 mod has ever been completely finished before?
Kingcrazygenius
22-01-05, 06:56 PM
As I recall the very first war3 mod finished was called "The Rise of Krill". It was a single player campaign with altered models. I didn't care for it.

A new model has been released:
The Supply Depot (http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4530)
There is also a message for all coders out there:
"We are having a bit of a problem with creating shadows for our buildings so we are in need of a coder for a small project. The buildings in the screenshots we have shown do have shadows, but they are not done properly (they are just added in as part of the model, not an actual shadow). The image format for the shadows is a simple paletted bitmap format for which there is no converter.
There have been several coders to offer help but we did not need any at the time. Here is your chance. I have created a thread for this problem on the forums here. Samples files in this format are available in the thread. If you do not want to discuss this in the public forum then send me a private message.

All zerg stuctures would be hard ot model in my opinion, to capture that organic look to them
BraveLiver

What's hard about the Defiler Mound is that it has the organic part, and then it was those black rocks that don't move sticking out of it.
