I am 14 and I shave
but I was talking to my friends and they said they did not start getting hair till they were 15/16
but I got hair when I was 13/14
does anyone else know when most guys start to shave?
I always thought I started to shave too late
when did you start shaving
just want to know if shaving at 13/14 is normal :y-sealed:

i had some hair around my lip at that age. However when I told some kid with a big mouth he made is sound like I thought I was growing a beard....
lets see though... ya thats pretty normal. A little early perhaps but its no big deal.

shave what?
Estrangement.

You shave when you have to. That's all there is too it.
As I clicked 'post reply' the Oprah show started talking about hair (my mom's watching it)
Anyway, I started shaving in January, I turned 15 in May. I shave about once a week. Then again, I'm not the most normal person you'll ever meet :y-sneaky:
I'm 14, and I don't shave yet, I don't see the need to yet; I have a slight mustach and a whole bunch of hairs on my chin, but that's not enough to make me shave. Besides, once you start shaving, you gotta do it every week or for some, even sooner, or else you'll look like a (insert furry animal here).

I didn't shave until like the middle of my 14th year, though I probably could have started when I was 13. Then I got a genetic predisposition for it.

Shave quick and early, because it grows back faster. More hair=more of a man.
You're growing up, boy.

well I've seen lots of people who shave
if I follow my genetic heritage i will have a full beard soon
I only shaved cause ppl were making fun of me and saying "jeeze you need to shave"
I always told them to shut up
but I always thought People start to shave in their tweens
not 15/16 problem for when i shave is it makes my face all stickey feeling and rough and gritty like sand paper
It anoys me alot
my friend is like 16 and he just has a small bit of fuzz on his upper lip
I had fuzz on my upper lip when I was 12 but thats also when I started growing to 6 ft high and my feet started to grow and became too big so i step on ppls heels in the hall
Being a teenager is akward
You know what,I had to listen to some 8th graders talk about who how and when they have sex
also things they do
I do not want to listen to that it's just sick to think about all these ppl squirming on eachother
it's like.......thinking about your parents doing it
UUGGGGHHHHHH...........-shuders-
I shave when i need to. The problem is, once you start seriously shaving, you can't stop. I started when I was 14.5.
I don't get shaving cream however. I shave dry going against the grain with a dull blade. I have never had any skin irritations. Everything you've herd about skin irritations is propogated by the businesses.

Depends on where you shave. I started at 14.

it just depends on the body itself. some guys start early, some later, I started around 13 as well, it seemed all cool but you start to hate it after a while lol! christ im 21 now and iv got friends that dont need to shave much if at all...lol i envy them. But in all honesty i really hate being clean shaving now, i prefer having light to medium stubble and my wee chin beard(the girlfriend hates it so i try to keep it quite short n tidy lol), being clean shaven just makes my face feel real tight and uncomfortable!

Ergh, man, if you accidentally think about something like that, don't bring it up here. :y-mm:
Anyway, yeah, I didn't start shaving til I was 15, when the cotton candy on my upper lip was gettin' a little outta control. I probably should have started a couple months before that, but ah well. Now I shave when I look in the mirror and say, "Oh, hmm, time to shave." You probably don't need any serious commitment to it until you get a little older, but, whatever works.

When you start getting heavy whiskers, then it's a good idea to shave. Just so that other people don't think you're making an ill-fated attempt at a mustache. That'd be a double insult cause people presume:
1)Mustaches are uncool
2)If you grow one, then that's even more uncool.

I think I started about two years ago, when I was fourteen. Now I do it every few days.
I started when I was 11-12, so don't worry about it.
In retospect, I probably should have waited it out, cause I was the ONLY 7th grader with was mustache, and a bunch of girls thought it was "cute".

I first shaved when I was 12. I've had a full set of sideburns, chops included, since I was 14, and I've had the goatee since I was 15. I'm now 21, but for some reason I can still only barely grow a mustache. When you start shaving and where just depends on your body, like somebody said.
Personally, I really like the facial hair. I think it looks pretty badass. Most girls are fine with it, I've met very few who don't like it. There are also some girls who do like it, and those who like it like it a whole lot. So, that works out pretty well.
I have to trim in the nether regions. Seriously, if I didn't, I'd have to give the girl a map to navigate down there. Lucky thing the monkey is so tall, otherwise he might be hard to see through the trees, if'n you know what I'm sayin'.

Well, i'm 15,5 and i just shaved for the first time 2 weeks ago, and i think it's perfectly normal. Some of friends does, some dosn't. It's as easy as pie.
I'd like some hair on my cheeks though... Just gotta wait.

Furry animal cute or male model cute?
Like, male model cute.
I was clean slaven till I got a girlfriend, then she coerced me into getting a gotee. Now everyone freaks out whenever I feel like going a couple months without.

It is my experience that most are slaves after they get the girlfriend.
Sorry, couldn't pass up that oppertunity.
For me, I try and stay clean shaven, at least around my lip. My chin doesn't matter so much, cause it grows really slowly there, and those are the only two places I really have it now. Normally my hair grows extremely quickly.

Whaa-pssh! Whipped.
Anyone ever grown out the full beard? I have a couple of times. I thought it looked ok, I guess, not bad but not good, but all the girlies were pretty opposed. The only reason to have one, I would say, is to not have to shave as much of your face. That's pretty handy.

I've grown a moustache and then waxed it to handlebar formation for my high-school grad. Never the full beard though.

I'm graduating from university and still didnt shave my mustache
It's a genetic thing though
I hear Indians (from India) and ppl of Arab descent are the hairiest
and not just cuz some religions there refuse to shave

Well I meant generally of course
It's just by observation though
The dozens of "browns" (that's what they call themselves believe it or not) I've known have developed hair prior than the rest. But then again, maybe it's because they let it grow that I notice more.
When I can grow a beard, I'm going all out Rabbi-style. Or ZZ-Top style if you aren't familiar with Jewish rabbis. It complements my hair perfectly in looking like yet another hippie douchebag Jerry Garcia poser.

Nice Slay, go for it.
By the way, you guys who want to have a goatee should know goatees look really (bleep)ing stupid with certain hairdos. Combovers, naturals, and cowlicks look really crappy. Shaved, spiky, and mohawks* look alright. Dreads rock with short goatees. I don't really know anything that goes well with uber goatees though.
I know this from personal experience.
*Only if you can pull a mohawk off.

Shave when you have the need
I dont care if you are 7, if you have a beard shav...no better go to the circus
if you have 56 and beard hasnt appeared, then you cant shave
if you have hair shave.

If you're shaved head you can have a reallly long goatee, but then only if you wear really thick framed glasses.
